Brauhaus Riegele

Augustus 8

Augustus 8 pays homage to Emperor Augustus, founder of Augusta Vindelicorum—modern-day Augsburg—and home to Brauhaus Riegele since 1386. This Weizen Doppelbock emerges from the brewery's signature two-mash brewing process, blending Pilsner, wheat, and Munich malts with a unique weizen ale yeast. At 8% ABV, it delivers unexpected smoothness for its strength and weight.

The aroma carries the fruity character typical of wheat beer fermentation. On the palate, rich malt depth and warming alcohol are tempered by a clean, balanced finish. The body is full and substantial, yet drinks with surprising ease. Cloudiness is natural when served with yeast. This is a contemplative autumn beer: substantial enough to command respect, approachable enough to enjoy without ceremony.
