Stoemelings Tanteke Saison
Tanteke is a farmhouse saison from Brasserie En Stoemelings, the Brussels brewery founded by Samuel Languy and Denys Van Elewyck in 2015. Originally brewed to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Mont-de-Piété, Brussels' historic state-run pawnbrokers, this seasonal ale carries genuine character.
Brewed with three grains—barley, wheat and oats—plus a substantial portion of unmalted grain, Tanteke gains depth and complexity. Dried verbena adds a subtle herbal edge. At 6.5% ABV, it balances refreshment with substance: the nose suggests vanilla, malt and citrus, while the palate delivers toasted bread, white pepper and lemon without heaviness.
This is an authentic saison that honours the Belgian tradition while maintaining En Stoemelings' signature approach of classic styles with a personal twist.
