Du Mont Blanc La Rousse
La Rousse from Brasserie du Mont Blanc is an amber ale brewed in the French Alps at La Motte-Servolex using pure glacier water from Mont Blanc. This beer blends three specialty malts with several hop varieties, notably Strisselpalt from Alsace, which contributes floral and spicy aromatic character.
La Rousse pours a clear copper-red colour with a light tan head. The nose reveals malt sweetness, caramel and toffee with delicate floral hop notes. The palate is fuller than expected: sweet and malty with emerging roasted almond and caramel flavours, followed by pleasant sourness and moderate bitterness.
This beer earned Bronze at the World Beer Awards 2024, reflecting the brewery's commitment to quality since its founding in 1830.
