Maredret Extra
Maredret Extra is a light witbier brewed by the sisters of Maredret Abbey in Belgium. This beer is crafted with spelt, an ancient grain rooted in medieval monastic brewing tradition, and infused with pear and ginger. The abbey, founded in 1893, draws inspiration from the writings of Saint Hildegard of Bingen, an 11th-century Benedictine abbess whose texts celebrated herbs and grains in brewing.
At 3.6% ABV, this is a refreshing beer suited to celebration within the cloister. The marriage of spelt with orchard fruit and warming ginger creates a subtle and distinctive witbier with genuine character.
