Foster's Lager is an Australian lager with a surprising American heritage. Brothers William and Ralph Foster emigrated from New York to Melbourne in 1886 and established their brewery there. The beer was first brewed in 1888 and launched on 1 February 1889, eventually becoming an internationally distributed brand.
