Dupont Monk's Stout
Brewed at Brasserie Dupont, one of Europe's last farmhouse breweries in Hainaut, Monk's Stout revives a recipe first created in the 1950s. This very dark beer is crafted with roasted malts that deliver distinctive aromas of chocolate and coffee.
The palate is refreshingly dry and refined, avoiding the heaviness typical of the style. Dark chocolate and espresso notes move across the tongue briefly, giving way to a roasted, nutty finish with assertive roasted bitterness. The consistent freshness introduced by the roasted malts lends this beer a crisp character that sets it apart from conventional Belgian stouts.
At 5.2% ABV, Monk's Stout is an approachable expression that pairs well with sweet desserts and meat dishes alike.
