150
Chimay 150 is a strong blonde ale brewed by the Trappist community of Scourmont Abbey, following a recipe that traces back to 1862. Originally created as a 150th anniversary special, it is now a permanent part of the brewery's range.
This 10% ABV beer marries Belgian brewing heritage with a refined hop character. Bitter orange peel, pale malt, and a touch of cane sugar build a complex flavour profile marked by spice and white pepper. Fermentation yields fruity esters—apple, pear, and citrus—that combine with warming alcohol and a subtle herbal edge for a layered finish.
Highly carbonated with a full body and a clean, dry conclusion that emphasises the bitter hop notes.
