Grosse Bertha
Grosse Bertha is Brussels Beer Project's Hefeweizen, a Belgian take on Bavarian wheat beer tradition. This 7% ale was selected after a public recipe trial and is known for its characteristic wheat beer aromas with clear banana and clove notes. Fermentation with Belgian yeast gives it a slightly sweeter profile than its German counterparts.
In the glass it pours a clear golden hue topped with a thick, persistent head. The nose displays classic Hefeweizen character: ripe fruit and floral notes alongside banana. The palate is clean and crisp with moderate fruit and floral flavors, leading to a well-balanced finish.
