Oud Beersel Oude Kriek Vieille
Brouwerij Oud Beersel, established in 1882 in Beersel, crafts this traditional Oude Kriek using time-honoured lambic methods. The beer is made with approximately 400 grams of morello cherries per litre—more than comparable krieken—with no added sugar or artificial flavourings. After maturation in wooden barrels, it develops a deep ruby colour with the characteristic balance of fruit and acidity that defines the style.
The nose reveals ripe cherry juice with subtle citrus hints. On the palate, initial sweetness gives way to clean cherry character in the middle, followed by a long, moderately sour finish. The mouthfeel is smooth and soft, with a light to medium body that complements the fruity profile.
