Pauwel Kwak
Pauwel Kwak honours a legendary brewer and innkeeper from Dendermonde during Napoleon's era. Brouwerij Bosteels in Buggenhout crafts this strong amber ale using a traditional recipe that balances malt and hops into complex flavour. At 8.4% ABV, it delivers full body and depth with a distinctive amber hue.
The aroma reveals ripe, fruity character with apricot notes and a subtle anise-like spice. On the palate, caramel and brown sugar lead, complemented by Belgian yeast esters of banana and pear, finishing with delicate bitterness. Substantial lacing and restrained carbonation frame a satisfying, warming experience.
