Hopfenreiter is a Double IPA from Brauerei Gebrüder Maisel, a Bavarian brewery with brewing roots stretching back to 1887. Born in 2016, this friendship brew embodies the brewery's philosophy that fellow breweries are collaborators, not competitors.

The beer delivers a burst of stone and tropical fruit: peach, apricot and mirabelle plum lead, joined by grape, passion fruit, pineapple and red berries. Six hop varieties contribute floral and grassy notes alongside a smooth, measured bitterness that enhances rather than overwhelms the fruit. The finish is clean and dry, with a lingering fruitiness.

At 8.5% ABV, this full-bodied Double IPA is dangerously easy to drink. Pairs well with burgers, BBQ and Thai curry.
