Oude Geuze Black Label
Brouwerij Boon released this Black Label in 2015 to mark the brewery's 40th anniversary. It is the driest gueuze Boon has ever produced—a blend of aged lambics fermented to nearly 100% completion. The result is a full-bodied beer with no residual sweetness, driven by the intense aromatics of wild yeast and bacteria.
The nose reveals citrus, apple and dried peel, supported by hay, dusty grain and floral notes. The palate is sharp and bone-dry, with green apple and white wine character. Brisk carbonation delivers freshness, while the finish remains clean and lingering.
This is an ambitious beer that marries traditional gueuze refinement with uncompromising dryness.
