Oak Aged #50
La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch #50 is a rare celebratory release from Bierbrouwerij de Koningshoeven, blended in January 2024 to mark the brewery's 140th anniversary. It stands as one of the most distinctive oak-aged batches the abbey has produced.
Following primary and secondary fermentation, the beer matures for 18 months in oak barrels, developing a layered character. Complex and warming, it carries notes of cognac with a sweet, almond-tinged finish. The oak integration is subtle and refined rather than dominant.
A contemplative beer for the serious drinker—a moment of silence and indulgence born from the Trappist tradition.
