Blackout Dark Euphoria from Romanian gipsy brewery Blackout Brewing is an ambitious blend of two barrel-aged stouts. An Imperial Stout matured in port wine casks is combined with a barley wine aged in gold reserve casks, resulting in a complex, full-bodied drinker at 11% ABV.

The nose reveals rich fruity and malty character with clear influence from the wine barrels. On the palate, a thick, sweet profile develops with warming alcohol and a prickling texture. The finish is lingering and dry, with assertive bitterness that balances the sweetness.

This stout pairs well with smoked meats or sweet desserts.
