Chimay

Red

Chimay Red is the flagship and oldest beer from the Trappist brewery Notre-Dame de Scourmont in Belgium, first brewed in 1867 and known as Chimay Première in 75cl bottles. Fermented with the abbey's house yeast, this dubbel develops distinctive fruity and spicy character during conditioning.

Brewed with Belgian pale malt, sugar and wheat starch, then finished with bitter orange peel from Curaçao, this brown ale reaches 7% ABV with a full body and creamy head. Aromas of banana, plum and apricot emerge alongside subtle clove notes. The palate delivers rich malt depth and dark fruit, closing with a dry, lingering finish that invites another sip.
