Ale No. 16
Ale No. 16 is an English Pale Ale brewed by Bryggeriet Vestfyen, a brewery in Assens on Denmark's island of Funen. First brewed in 1995, this beer earned the title of Denmark's best beer in 1997. It is crafted from Maris Otter malt, pale caramel malt, Münchener malt and wheat malt, paired with Saaz and Hallertauer hops and English top-fermenting yeast.
The aroma presents malt and caramel notes with subtle toasted character. The palate is well-balanced, offering fruity hints, brown sugar and nutty undertones, finishing with a pleasant bitterness. This is an approachable, fairly-priced pale ale valued for both its flavour profile and its place in Danish brewing history.
